Recognised as both an AAA Arts Scholar, and an Imagine Impact Fellow, Jessie was named an Imagine screenwriter under the mentorship of Ron Howard and Brian Grazer in 2021 to 2022. During the program, she further developed her scripted television series while receiving industry mentorship, international market access, and direct pathways into the global screen industry.

In 2022, Hughes marked the G’Day USA stage alongside Screen Australia CEO Graeme Mason to present legendary filmmakers Ron Howard and Brian Grazer with their Innovation Award. In a standout moment, Howard publicly praised Jessie’s creative voice, calling her project one of the most memorable he had seen — a rare, on-stage endorsement from one of Hollywood’s most respected storytellers.
